Real bride Lyndee wears Casablanca Bridal for her destination wedding
Today we’re dreaming of sunshine thanks to Lyndee and Alexander’s destination wedding in Cancun! Take a look at real bride Lyndee’s stunning Casablanca Bridal gown…
When it comes to saying “yes” to the perfect dress, it looks like mother isn’t the only one that knows best. Lyndee found the dress of her dreams at Bridals by Elena while window shopping with her sister.
“My sister and I were casually looking at dresses and Sage (Style 2256) had JUST been put on the mannequin. She spotted the mannequin in the back of the store, pointed at it and said ‘that’s your dress!’
Lyndee had her consultant pull the lovely lace wedding dress from the mannequin to try on, and amazingly, the dress fit perfectly! The fit and flare style fit so well that the bride-to-be didn’t even have to have alterations of any sorts.
If that didn’t give you butterflies, Lyndee’s love story will:
“My husband and I met in middle school and started dating end of 8th grade. We were high school sweethearts all throughout high school until 2nd semester of freshman year of college. He did sports and I was a college cheerleader so we broke up due to the inability to see each other (neither of us had a car– I was in MD and he was in PA). We lost contact for about 6 years. It was just after Christmas when I received a text from a random cell phone number. It turned out to be Alex seeing if my cell phone number was still the same (he later admitted he memorized it from high school days) and if I was home for the holidays.”
“Within a few weeks we were dating again, and we’ve been together ever since.”
Lyndee chose soft slate hues to offset the palmy greenery of Cancun. Powder blue tones served as a complementary color to thematically mimic the sea.
When it comes to wedding planning, Lyndee admits that the most daunting part of planning a destination wedding is not being able to see the final product of your planning until the day of.
Still this Casablanca Bride proves that with your soulmate by your side, marching towards the aisle to face the new and unknown is half the adventure in marriage!

This beautiful lace and tulle A-line gown gives us a real boho vibe, thanks to the flower-inspired applique, sheer tulle train and delicate spaghetti straps. The lightness of the material is ideal for brides looking to tie the knot on the beach.

An incredible Hawaii wedding with a rustic theme
Unforgettably romantic and dreamy, this Hawaii wedding ticks all the boxes. Real bride Cat shares her wedding story with us…
How did Ben propose?
“On 8th August 2015, Ben took me on a hot-air balloon ride in Sedona, Arizona, for sunrise. He had co-ordinated with the pilot and even warned some of the passengers so they could help capture the moment. As we were floating high above the red rocks, Ben got down on one knee and proposed. I could not have dreamed of a more romantic way for us to start our long engagement.”
What dress did you wear?
“I purchased my dress from Lillian Lottie Boutique in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was a big Allure Bridals dress that had a low back and long train. Only two months before the wedding, I decided I was in love with another Allure dress (Style 2709). I was so fortunate that the boutique was so accommodating, they made it their mission to find me the dress I loved and even swapped it out free of charge and it was ready within a month! I’m so happy I made the switch, the dress was absolutely perfect!”
What did Ben wear?
“Ben wore a baby-blue Bar III suit with a polka dot navy blue bow tie. He also wore Cole Haan shoes, a Hugo Boss shirt, and a Skagen watch.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“Ben and I actually had our first look in a palm tree grove at Olowalu Plantation House. This was one of the most emotional parts of the day. As I walked towards him, I could tell he was so nervous, so I gave him a good smack on the butt to help him relax as soon as we were in touching distance! It was one of very few moments that were alone together the whole day.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“I had two bridesmaids – my sister, Julie, and my best friend, Veronica. They wore White by Vera Wang dresses in blush to fit their own style.”
What was your theme?
“We had a rustic beach theme and our colours were blue and pink. Our wedding planner, Ali from Maui’s Angels, made our Pinterest board come to life. It was so easy and better than we could have ever imagined.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“There were a lot! Taking a moment during cocktail hour to watch our friends and family and see how happy they all were to be together. Watching the kids play on the swing overlooking the ocean; our friends playing cornhole and giant Jenga; listening to the ukulele player sing… It was all magical. Ben’s family is from Australia, so it had been ten years since all of them were in one place at the same time. It was amazing to see how relaxed and care-free everyone was on the day! The dance floor was not empty the whole night!”

You may have already seen a sneak peek at the shoot for this beautiful collection, but we’re pleased to announced that Platinum Bay from Ivory & Co is officially here!
This collection of gowns and bridal separates encapsulates the essense of island romance; the styles are relaxed, yet uniquely beautiful with fresh, floaty styling that makes them ideal for Spring and Summer weddings, as well as destination celebrations. The gowns are produced in a gorgeous array of flowing silk fabrics, including soft chiffons, organza and silk satins as well as French and Italian lace). Although they may look effortless when worn, these designs features amazing inner corsetry to produce flattering silhouettes and give brides all the support they need.
The inspiration for this collection comes from the dream of a platinum coast, which conjours the romance of white beaches, crystal blue waters and exotic, frangrant greenery. The colour palette works beautifully against the vibrancy of an island backdrop, but will complement an English garden just as well, thanks to the soft, subtle colourways of blush, palest pink, golden sand, oyster and warm cream.
“Brides are looking for a softer, more feminine look and these gowns allow them to feel beautiful, special and unique without going too far away from a classic style,” says Sarah Bussey, the Head Designer at Ivory & Co. “They are simply pure and fresh looking, and would be equally perfect for a destination beach wedding or nuptials in the UK, be it boho, rustic or more traditional. I love this new collection as it allows brides that floaty contemporary look, with a nod to the exotic elements of romantic adventure.”
The collection includes a large selection of lace boleros and sashes so that brides can have complete versatility, and can create entirely different bridal looks for their wedding ceremony and evening reception. Bespoke options are also available across the collection, for those wanting a completely one-of-a-kind look.
The Platinum Bay pieces cost between £1300 and £2000, which is an incredible price point for silk designer gowns! You can see all the new gowns here, and find your nearest stockist at ivoryandcobridal.co.uk.

New Enchanting by Mon Cheri collection for Fall 2017
There’s a brand new Enchanting by Mon Cheri collection for Fall 2017, and the dresses are as gorgeous as ever! Check out the new designs here…
Enchanting by Mon Cheri is a sister collection to the main Mon Cheri lines, and is designed for today’s modern bride. The designs in this collection are a beautiful assortment of lightweight yet luxurious gowns that are perfect for destination weddings, shorter, more contemporary cuts that work well for informal celebrations or rehearsal dinners, and classic gowns with simple yet chic detailing.
Brides on the hunt for a LWD (that’s a Little White Dress, FYI) will love this collection, as there are some fun and fabulous options to choose from. Style 217106 is a knee-length pencil dress in lace with a scallop eyelash lace hem and strapless sweetheart neckline, which comes with a floaty tulle overskirt that makes it an ideal pick for brides wanting to switch up their bridal look. Style 217117 is a more retro-inspired design, as the box-pleated A-line skirt and the sweetheart neckline with thick straps gives it a 1950s feel (albeit with a modern high-low skirt!).
Sheer detailing has been popular on the bridal runways recently, so we’re happy to see the trend make an appearance in this stylish collection! Style 217108 is a flowing chiffon gown with a dreamy, bohemian feel, thanks to the sheer floral lace bodice with three-quarter length sleeves. Style 217109 is a sexier take on the sheer boho gown, with its body-hugging sheath silhouette and plunge V-line neck.
If you love boho style then this collection is definitely for you, as there are some gorgeous Summer dresses among the new designs. Style 217121 is a great take on the two-piece trend, as it’s actually a one-piece but gives the illusion of being stylish lace separates – plus, the embroidered lace has a Broderie Anglaise feel to it that makes it the perfect casual wedding dress. For a more sultry boho style, Style 217113 is a body-skimming slim A-line gown, featuring a beautiful 1920s-inspired scalloped lace pattern.
The new Enchanting by Mon Cheri collection will hit stores in July 2017. You can see more of this gorgeous collection below, and find your nearest stockist here! To see the full Mon Cheri collections, visit mon-cheri.co.uk.
Trend alert: sheer bodice wedding dresses
We’re loving the daring new bridal trend for sheer bodice wedding dresses! Here’s how to wear the look, with help from the new Phil Collins bridal collection…
One of our favourite new bridal trends this year has to be the sheer bodice – it’s fun, daring, and completely changes the look of an otherwise traditional dress. Although they work particularly well for destination, festival or boho brides, we think plenty of brides can wear sheer bodice wedding dresses. Here are our takes on the trend.
How to wear it: slightly sheer
If you’re feeling nervous about the prospect of baring all (or you have a fuller bust and are worried about support), then opting for a bodice that’s somewhere between sheer and opaque is a great option for you. Choosing a tighter weave of lace can help with this, as can picking a design with plenty of embellishment on the bodice. That way, you’re only showing a glimpse of skin.
How to wear it: standout sheer
On the other hand, if you love the look of a fully sheer lace bodice and want to make it the focus of your bridal look, then picking embroidered lace is a great way to do this. The key to keeping the look intentional rather than accidental is to ensure that the skirt fabric is clean and luxurious, to help balance the design.
How to wear it: asymmetric sheer
This take on the trend is similar to standout sheer, but works particularly well for brides who are concerned that the straight-cut sheer bodice may not be flattering on them. The asymmetric cut of this design brings the opaque part of the skirt up higher, which gives you the effect of the sheer lace while still pulling in your waist and making it appear smaller.
These gorgeous designs will be in stores this Summer! You can find your nearest Phil Collins stockist here, or you can visit philcollinsbridal.co.uk for more information.
